這首歌是電影 Once 中的一段插曲。

在都柏林街頭賣唱的中年大叔，遇見了在街頭賣花來自捷克的音樂女孩。
女孩喜歡大叔的音樂，站在前面聽了很久，但窮困的她沒有錢可以投給大叔，想要賣唱存點本錢到英國的大叔因此有些不悅，懶得理她。
女孩才不管大叔悅不悅，學過音樂的她就是單純的、近乎執著的喜歡大叔的歌。
這樣傻傻的堅持任誰都會感動，愛情之門於是開啟。
女孩沒有鋼琴，只能在打工過的樂器行利用中午休息時段來練琴。
兩個人就在樂器行唱起了這首歌。

簡簡單單的一首歌，情緒慢慢的蘊釀，溫度緩緩的爬升。就像電影裡的愛情。

但我卻更愛電影裡的另一首插曲 - If You Want Me。
大叔寫了首歌，還沒填詞，女孩要了錄音帶回去聽，填好了詞。
夜裡，女孩穿著毛茸茸的大拖鞋出來買電池，戴上耳機聽著隨身聽，在昏暗的路燈下，一路唱著慢慢的走回家。

Once 是 2006 年的愛爾蘭音樂電影，由愛爾蘭搖滾樂團《The Frames》前貝斯手約翰·卡尼編導，《The Frames》主唱與吉他手葛倫·漢瑟和捷克女歌手瑪琪塔·伊葛洛瓦主演。

整部電影大都非專業演員，吉他手和歌手更都是貨真價實的音樂人，電影裡的歌曲配樂也幾乎全數由他們兩位創作。

只花了 13 萬歐元拍攝的小成本電影，全球票房卻破了 1600 萬美元。這首 Falling Slowly 獲得 2008 年奧斯卡最佳原創歌曲獎。
